Effective from 3 October 2026. These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to car rentals booked through the teslautad.hu website. The detailed terms of each rental are set out in the individual rental contract concluded between the parties; in case of any conflict, the contract prevails.
1. The provider
For private renters: Benkő Ádám Gábor, sole trader (registered office: Nimród utca 30., 2051 Biatorbágy, Hungary; tax number: 91236171-1-33; registration number: 60705873; exempt from VAT under the Hungarian small-business exemption). For company renters: General Contractor Team Kft. (registered office: Nimród utca 30., 2051 Biatorbágy, Hungary; company registration number: 13-09-228065; tax number: 25174032-2-13). 2. The service
Self-drive rental of Tesla electric passenger cars for daily, weekly and monthly periods. The subject of the rental is the vehicle advertised on the website and specified in the contract. The handover location is Tesla Supercharger Törökbálint (Auchan), Torbágy u. 1., 2045 Törökbálint – or, for an additional fee, an address specified by the renter (delivery).
3. The renter
Persons aged at least 18 with a valid driving licence and a valid identity document may rent and drive the vehicle. For company rentals, the vehicle may only be driven by the driver named in the contract.
4. How booking works
- The renter submits a booking request on the website and receives an automatic confirmation and a calendar invitation. This is not yet a final booking.
- The provider checks the car's availability and then sends the electronic rental contract and the payment request (pro forma invoice).
- When submitting the booking, the renter accepts the rental contract pre-filled with the booking details (the draft is also sent as a PDF in the confirmation email). The booking becomes final once the first payment due – the rental fee (for monthly payment, the first monthly fee) and/or the deposit, paid or pre-authorised on a bank card – has been received. The provider then sends the same contract for electronic authentication (eszerződés.hu); signing it is a condition of handover, but it no longer affects whether the booking is final. If the website offers online payment at the end of the booking, the booking becomes final immediately upon successful payment.
- Priority: for the same car and period, the request received first has priority for 24 hours from submission. If the payment described above is made within this time, the booking is final. If not, and a new request arrives in the meantime, the new request moves ahead and the same rule applies to it.
- If delivery is requested, the provider confirms the delivery time separately.
5. Fees
- The rental fee is the amount published on the website and specified in the contract. The fee includes 100 km per day; additional mileage costs 80 Ft/km for the Model S and 100 Ft/km for the Model X.
- Delivery fee: 5 000 Ft + 1 000 Ft/km from the Törökbálint handover point; for handover/return times before 9:00 or after 18:00, one and a half times the fee applies (7 500 Ft + 1 500 Ft/km).
- Fees payable by private individuals do not include VAT (small-business VAT exemption). For company rentals, fees are net amounts to which 27% VAT is added.
- Other surcharges (charging, cleaning, late return, downtime, etc.) are set out in the rental contract.
- A rental of 3 days or less counts as a short rental.
6. Payment and deposit
- Payment methods: bank transfer or online card payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay) via SimplePay. Cash payment is not possible.
- The rental fee paid counts as an advance payment, not as a non-refundable earnest deposit. For card payments, the rental fee is pre-authorised (held) on the card no earlier than about 30 days before the rental starts (or at booking for later bookings) and charged when the car is handed over; in case of cancellation, the amount due under the cancellation terms is charged.
- Deposit: 350 000 Ft for the Model S, 400 000 Ft for the Model X. For card payments on rentals of up to 29 days, the deposit is pre-authorised on the card at pick-up and not charged (for rentals longer than 29 days it is charged at pick-up and refunded at the end of the rental, less any amounts owed); the hold is released at the end of the rental, except for any damage, fines or surcharges under the contract, which are deducted from it. A deposit paid by bank transfer is refunded by the provider within 2 days after the vehicle is returned, less any amounts owed. If the car's telemetry recorded speeding, the deposit may be retained for up to 30 days to cover fines that arrive later.
7. Handover and return
- Handover and return are carried out with a handover report and photo and video documentation.
- Online handover: if the provider cannot be present in person, the handover takes place online, provided that all fees have been paid by bank transfer or card. The car is parked at the handover location; the renter signals their arrival, and the provider unlocks the car remotely and sends the PIN code. The key is in the glovebox. The renter signs the pre-filled handover report left in the car and takes photos and a video around the car as instructed. On return, the renter documents the car's condition in the same way.
- For car sharing, the renter is advised to download the Tesla app.
8. Use
The vehicle may only be used within Hungary. The following are prohibited: driving under the influence of alcohol (0‰ limit), drugs or medication impairing the ability to drive; commercial passenger or goods transport, driving instruction, racing and off-road use, towing; smoking; carrying pets outside a pet carrier. Detailed rules on charging, damage and liability are set out in the rental contract. There is no comprehensive (CASCO) insurance; the renter is liable for all damage caused during the rental.
9. Cancellation and withdrawal
Cancellation terms and refunds are set out on the "Cancellation and refunds" page and in the rental contract. Under Section 29 (1) l) of Government Decree 45/2014. (II. 26.) on the detailed rules of contracts between consumers and businesses, the 14-day right of withdrawal without giving reasons does not apply to car rental services for a specific date or period.
10. Complaints and disputes
Complaints may be submitted in writing to info@teslautad.hu or to the registered office address; the provider will reply in writing within 30 days. In case of a consumer dispute, consumers may turn to the conciliation board competent for their place of residence (in Pest County: Pest Vármegyei Békéltető Testület – Pest County Conciliation Board).
11. Governing law
Matters not regulated in these GTC or in the contract are governed by the Hungarian Civil Code (Act V of 2013) and other applicable Hungarian laws.
